Florida Legislature: December Special Session
We're celebrating! The Digital Democracy Project's first LIVE voting was a success during the Florida Legislature's December Special Session.
The legislature passed three bills, including a property insurance bill which was voted on by 40% of our Digital Democracy Community. See results on the Tally map. Click “December Special Session” from the drop-down menu.
The proposed bills were made public late on a Friday evening, with the session starting on the following Monday morning! That didn't give us much time to work! Our team hustled over the weekend to load the bills into the app, create content for the Kialo debates, and send out alerts by SMS, WhatsApp and email to let voters know.
How incredibly inspiring! So many of you quickly jumped into the app to make your voices heard. Your high level of engagement on these important pieces of legislation makes it clear that Digital Democracy Project is providing a much-needed public service.

Rumor has it that there may be a February Special Session, with several topics on the menu. We'll keep you posted. So watch for updates.
Next Feature Release - The Scorecard
We're excited to announce the upcoming roll out of our next feature release – the Digital Democracy Scorecard!
This new tool will allow voters to quickly rank all legislators in the Florida House and Senate based on how closely they represent the voters in their districts. We will compare how users vote in the app to how legislators vote in Tallahassee. Then, we'll give each representative a score.
We plan to have this ready on the website in time for the regular session to start on March 7th. In the meantime, here's a sneak peek from our designer. We'd love to hear what you think!
